Road construction in Novi will be picking up this week as work is slated to begin on the Asphalt Streets and Concrete Streets programs. Crews have already been hard at work on the Concrete Panel Repair program, which should be wrapped up by early August. Check out the information below to see what's happening!

Asphalt Streets
Work is getting underway this week in the Greenwood Oaks Subdivision, starting with asphalt pavement and curb removals on Greenwich Drive, Holyoke Court and Holyoke Lane. All construction will be performed half-width at a time & no detours are necessary. Traffic flow will be maintained under flag control.

Concrete Streets
Crews are gearing up to start work on Bedford Drive from Center to Galway this week. Traffic on Bedford Drive will be southbound ONLY & northbound traffic will be detoured around the construction zone back to Center Street & Bedford Drive.

Concrete Repair Program
There has been a lot of action lately. Here's a quick recap:

• The second side of Morgan Creek is being poured 
• The first side of Pennington Ct is completed
• Both sides of Pennington Lane are complete, waiting on cure to reopen
• The second side of Bristol East is done, waiting on cure to reopen
• The second side of Bristol West will start later this week
• The second side of Bristol Court is underway
• The first half of Marlborough was poured Friday

Cranbrooke Drive Reconstruction
The City will be reconstructing Cranbrooke Drive from 10 Mile Road to Village Wood Road starting in July. Traffic on Cranbrooke will be northbound ONLY throughout the duration of the project. The detour for southbound Cranbrooke Drive will be west on 10 Mile Road to Haggerty, southbound to Nine Mile, then, westbound to Cranbrooke Drive. Access to all cross streets on Cranbrooke will be maintained except for specific times of paving.

Major Roads
Some projects on major roads in Novi are also slated for this summer.
Preventative maintenance work on the Grand River Avenue bridge between Novi & Taft roads is underway. At least one lane of traffic in both directions will be open at all times.
The Novi Road bridge & pathway over I-96 will receive some preventative maintenance starting in July. During construction, the two outer southbound lanes of Novi Road will be closed. Therefore, the southbound Novi Road ramp to eastbound I-96 will also be closed.
The Crescent Boulevard Extension from Novi Road to Grand River is nearing completion as we wait for DTE to move the last of the power poles that are in the way of the final concrete pour on the Industrial Spur. We hope to have this completed by August.
