In an effort to adhere to social distancing requirements and reduce wait times at the Treasurer's office, we will not be issuing dog licenses in person at the City of Novi. Residents can request a license through us via the mail or online through Oakland County at oakgov.com/petadoption and click the link "now get your pet license online" and follow the instructions.

Dog licenses can also be purchased through the mail or placed in our drop box at City Hall. In order to purchase a license, a valid rabies certificate must be presented. All dogs over the age of four months require a license in Oakland County.

To purchase a license through the mail, make check payable to the City of Novi, and send rabies certificate along with self-addressed, stamped envelope to:

2020 licensing prices (through December 31, 2020) are as follows:

1-year fee/3-year fee
Spayed/Neutered - $10.50/$28.50
Senior Spay/Neuter - $9.75/$26.25
Male/Female - $18.00/$51.00
Senior Male/Female - $16.50/$46.50

If this is your first time purchasing a license for your pet, make sure proof of spay/neuter is also present. Also remember to always include your current address and phone numbers so we can contact you if we find your pet.
