Novi Varsity Inline loses two tough games
May 12, 2008

The Novi Wildcats Varsity Inline Hockey team finished regular season play this past weekend with 2 tough losses.

In Thursday's contest against the Canton Chiefs, Novi lead most of the way only to see the Chiefs eat away at a 3 goal spread and beat Novi 6-8.

The weekend game brought on another fierce battle against Detroit Catholic Central, and again Novi let a 3 goal lead dwindle as CC scored the go-ahead goal with less than 1 minute in regulation to win 5-4.

"I have no complaints. The kids have improved dramatically and come to play every day. If there was a stat for the most goal posts hit for the season we would be at the top of the list," said Head Coach John Smith.

The Wildcats now head into the state tournament this weekend at the Joe Dumars Field House in Shelby Township.
