The 'Cats came out of the gate early over Coach Smith's alma mater, the Canton Chiefs, with a 11-3 thrashing Sunday afternoon.

Leading the way for Novi was Robert Lewis and Jeff Donohue both with 4 point games. Lewis scored a hat trick and added an assist while Donohue did the opposite with 3 assists and a goal.

"It was complete team effort, we had several other kids with 2 point games" said Coach Smith.

After the game the coaching staff announced this season's tri-captains - Shawn Baxter, Jeff Donohue and Ryan Timar.

"We have so many leaders on this team that several others were in contention," said Coach Zarem.

The Wildcats will face-off for the second time in this early season against the Salem Rocks Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Total Sports in Wixom.
