Novi starts off strong and keeps up the pressure
5/1/2006 by Scott Olson
The new Wildcat Inline
Hockey Team was on a roll Thursday, soundly defeating their cross-town
rival Detroit Catholic Central 12-5. Novi started the game with a goal
in the first minute of action, and didn't let up throughout the game.
Greg Morisette started
things off for the 'Cats, followed by two goals from Steve Rousseau and
one from Shamus Finnerty to make in 4-2 Novi after one period.
CC came out strong in the
second period, scoring first. Novi answered back on two goals from
Justin Ascenzo and another from Mike Arnold: 7-3 Novi after two.
In the third period both
teams played a solid game, with CC scoring two and Novi's Steve Rousseau
scoring three more, and Kyle Mouch and Ascenzo each adding another.
Final score 12-5 Novi.
Solid goaltending by Novi's Chad Tindall stymied CC's efforts to score
throughout the game. "He was phenomenal," explained Head Coach John
Smith following the game.
