Men's CC takes
second at KVC Meet
10/24/2006 by Scott Olson
The Novi Wildcat Men's Cross Country team
finished in second place, bested only by last year's state champion
Pinckney Pirates at the grueling KVC Meet in Hartland Monday.
Running against some of the top teams
in the state, the Wildcats held their own. Novi's Mike Wheat was
first over the line for the Wildcats, and 5th overall with a time of
16:12. Senior Alex Prasad was just behind him, taking 8th place overall
with a time of 16:20. Both Wheat and Prasad earned first team all-KVC
status.
Other top Wildcats included Lumley, and MacDonough
with times of 16:33 and 16:35 respectively, good enough for second team
all-KVC. Wagner S (16:46), Beard (16:52), and Croad
(17:08) earned honorable mention status while Butler (17:29), Cateriano (17:32), Farooq (17:47) and Manza
(17:59) also turned in solid times.
Several of Novi's harriers posted
personal and season bests at the meet.
"We are running really fast right now,"
exclaimed veteran head coach Robert Smith following the meet.
Next up, Regionals this Saturday.
