Girl's Cross Country Wins Kermit Ambrose Invitational
Meghan Bannatz, Andrea Kramer Lead Way
9/27/2005 by Alex Prasad

On Saturday, Sept. 24th, the Women's Cross Country team traveled to Royal Oak to run in the Kermit Ambrose Invitational. It was, to say the least, a successful day for the Lady 'Cats.

All the numbers from the invite show complete dominance by the team. The final score was Novi 27, South Lyon 57, Berkley 73, Royal Oak Dondero 96, Royal Oak Kimball 120, and Bloomfield Hills Lahser 186. 1st place out of six teams...not bad, not bad at all.

The score is more impressive when you consider that even though the medalist was a member Royal Oak Dondero, the Wildcats would have won the meet if it had been Novi vs. the field!

Novi placed all 7 of their top runners in the top 15, including Meghan Bannatz who ran a 24:20 to second place overall and Andrea Kramer who finished fourth with a 21:02.

It's not just the scores that are low. The girls' times are dropping too. Even freshman Kelli Brown is stepping it up according to Coach Reid. As Coach Reid puts it, "I am really excited to see what happens in October, as times are coming down and our top 7 runners change frequently."

The team next runs Wednesday September 28th at Brighton.
