Men's Cross County Wins Region: On to States
10/31/2005 by Scott Olson
For the second year in a
row the Novi Men's Cross Country Team was crowned the Regional
Champions at the Michigan High School Athletic Assoc. qualifying
meet held at Schoolcraft College on Saturday.
In a field of 14 teams, Novi came
out #1 against some tough competition including Catholic Central
(2), Plymouth-Salem (3), Plymouth (4), Livonia Churchill (5),
and Northville (6).
Leading the pack for Novi was Mike
Wheat (16:14), Alex Prasad (16:27), Scott Wagner (16:35), Luke
Barnes (16:50), Josh Lumley (17:04), and Kenny MacDonough
(17:07).
Wheat, Prasad, Wagner, Barnes and MacDonough set personal bests at the meet.
What's really exciting is that these are all under-classmen -
not a senior in the bunch. Look out, Michigan, next year too!
This stellar showing means that
the Wildcats are once again heading to the M.I.S. Speedway in
Brooklyn Michigan this Saturday for State Finals!
