Novi Men's Cross Country 2nd at KVC Meet
Wildcats "run smart and
fast" against tough competition
10/24/2005 by Scott Olson
Being a Wildcat Cross
Country runner in the Kensington Valley Conference isn't easy.
In fact, it's down-right tough.
Of the KVC's 8
schools, 7 are ranked in the top 10 or are honorable mentions in
Division I this year. Last year at State Finals, it was
Pinckney, Milford and Novi in the top four - of the entire
state!
The
Wildcats were up to the test again Monday afternoon at Hudson
Mills, taking a very respectable second place at the KVC meet
against such 2005 powerhouses as Pinckney (ranked #1 in the
state, took 1st at the meet), South Lyon (5th ranked) and
Brighton (10th ranked).
Leading the pack for Novi was Mike
Wheat (16:34), Scott Wagner (16:43), Alex Prasad (16:46), Josh
Lumley (17:11), Kenny MacDonough (17:27), and Luke Barnes
(17:44).
Honors went to Mike Wheat, First
Team All -KVC; Scott Wagner and Alex Prasad, Second Team
All-KVC; and Josh Lumley, Honorable Mention.
"We ran smart and fast yesterday.
We are running with confidence. We
are ready for Saturday!" exclaimed Coach Smith following the
meet.
Saturday October 29th is Regionals at Schoolcraft
College in Livonia. Race time is 10:00 a.m., and the top three
teams head to the State Finals!
Indeed, it's looking like another great Cross Country season for
the Novi Wildcats, and the KVC too!
