New Novi Library a phenomenon of monumental proportions
June 3, 2010 by Kathy Crawford

At a time when most news is depressing and the majority of Michigan communities are reeling from unprecedented cutbacks, the opening of the new Novi Library is a phenomenon of monumental proportions.

There is no doubt that we, in Novi, are lucky but luck had little to do with this building becoming a reality. I enthusiastically applaud the many volunteers and forward-thinking citizens who had a vision years ago. Not only did they dream of this facility but they knuckled down and planned, as well as worked hard to inform and persuade citizens that this new library was in our best interest. It certainly was and is the right thing for Novi..

We now have a captivating new Novi Library building with unlimited possibilities for services and programs for all. I urge everyone to not only tour the new facility but also become a Novi Library supporter and volunteer. There are limitless ways to be involved and you will gain far more than you give.

Congrats to all who have been involved in this project, but a special thank-you to the many people who have volunteered and supported as well as been employees of the Novi Library during its fifty years of existence. Without their perseverance.. I doubt we would be where we are today.
