Kim Capello: The Best Choice

It’s so easy to get caught up in the rhetoric of a political campaign. It’s so easy to proclaim, “Look what I did” even though you were but a single spoke in a wheel.

It’s rare that we get a candidate like Kim Capello. Honest, trustworthy, friendly and articulate are only some of the adjectives that can be used to describe Kim. Experienced, educated, motivated and modest should also be included.

Kim and his family have been my friends for over 15 years. I’ve always marveled at Kim’s enthusiasm for Novi and Novi’s residents and business owners. In the fall, you will find Kim and his family at many of the High School football games. The Capello family has always supported the Novi schools and all that goes with that. You’ll also find Kim and his family at the senior centers, dishing out meals and helping everyone who needs them. And, of course, you will also be able to find Kim at his business office on Taft Road in Novi or at our local 52nd District Court. Always promoting Novi. Always working for Novi’s citizens. But, NEVER trying to take credit for his many accomplishments.

It’s been my privilege to sit next to Kim at the council table as we wrestled with the tough questions that came before us. And, it was always a relief to listen to Kim Capello begin to talk as he shared his legal opinions on the complex matters. And, while in the back room of the council chambers, where we dealt with legal issues, Kim was the same way. Always helping. Always advising. Never bragging or taking credit.

As you drive North or South on M-5 and see the new business growth there, please silently say thank you to Kim Capello for his writing and formulating the OST ordinance which fostered the growth and development there. His legal expertise was invaluable in that endeavor. And the tax dollars generated as a result helps all of us. Every day.

As you drive East or West on Grand River by Meadowbrook Road and see the new buildings and development there, please silently say thank you to Kim Capello for his role in the creation of the Gateway District and the Gateway ordinance. It’s not only aesthetically pleasing; it’s a tax dollar bonanza for the citizens of Novi. Again, Kim’s legal experience helped the City draft those deals and ordinances that were required to make this happen.

As you drive by the majestic, awe inspiring building named the Rock Financial Showplace, please say thank you to Kim Capello who steadfastly supported the tax exemptions needed to get that building developed. Today, Novi and the Rock Financial are mentioned time and again on TV and Radio. They go hand in hand. And put Novi on the map. Thank you Kim.

I could go on and on about Kim’s accomplishments and his involvement in endeavors like the Novi Parks Foundation, Providence Hospital, and other local programs. Time, and space, dictates that I must stop.

I close by saying that Kim Capello is the best choice for the Oakland County Commissioner seat that we will vote for on Tuesday, August 5th. His record is one of accomplishments. Not just promises and rhetoric. Not pretending to be something he isn’t. He’s educated, articulate and motivated.

Please, do yourself and the citizens of Novi a real favor: Vote for Kim Capello for Oakland County Commissioner. The BEST CHOICE!!
