Grand Rapids teen flees from deputies, caught a short time later
January 13, 2012

LYON TWP., MI - An 17 year-old Grand Rapids teen fled from Oakland County Sheriff's Deputies about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday on I-96 in Lyon Twp.

The Sheriff's office reports that deputies stopped the vehicle, which was traveling at a high rate of speed east-bound on I-96 near Old Plank Road. After the car was stopped, the driver took off with deputies in pursuit.

The chase was called off for safety reasons, but deputies saw the car a short time later on Milford Road near General Motors Road, and were able to get her stopped. The vehicle was searched with negative results.

The responsible girl was lodged at Oakland County Jail for Fleeing and Eluding, Reckless Driving and No Operator's License on Person.
