Tastefest volunteers needed
August 24, 2010

NOVI, MI – The Sept. 24 date for the annual Novi Wildcat Tastefest is fast approaching, and organizers are looking for help to make this year’s event the best one ever. Volunteers are needed in areas from setup and ticket sales to take down and T-shirt sales.

“Tastefest is an amazing night of food, fun and friends, but it is the work of dozens of volunteers that makes this event come together so seamlessly,” said Angela Brown, who for the second year is co-chair of the event with Andrea Mohr. “Volunteers have a great time, too, so many return to help out year after year.”

Sponsored by the Novi Athletic Boosters, Tastefest brings together the entire community to support all Novi student athletes. Proceeds from the sale of dinner items, desserts and drinks from seven local restaurant partners go to the Novi Athletic Boosters and are used to provide equipment and uniform needs for all the Novi High School teams and to assist Novi Middle School teams.

Tastefest is truly a family event, as admission is free for all students in kindergarten through Grade 8 who attend with a parent will be admitted for free. Gates at Novi Wildcats Stadium will open at 5 p.m. for restaurant service, and the Novi Wildcats will take on South Lyon East at 7 p.m. In the event of rain, Tastefest will relocate to the Field House.

Serving up dinner this year will be bd’s Mongolian Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, Pizza Marvelous, Famous Dave’s and Subway. Desserts and drinks will be offered by Cold Stone Creamery of Novi and Biggby Coffee of Novi. Hot dogs, drinks and candy will be available at the concession stand as well. Dinner tickets will be $1 each, and food items will range in price from two to six tickets.

The evening will also be a “white out” in the stands, so community members are invited to wear white to show their support for all of Novi’s student athletes. White “Novi Nation” T-shirts with green lettering will be sold during lunch hours the week of the event at the high school and the middle school and also will be available for purchase at the event.
