DeRoche formally charged with drunk driving

The MIRS news service is reporting this morning that Novi resident
and former Speaker of the Michigan House Craig DeRoche has been
charged with one misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
DeRoche was arrested and lodged in jail
overnight after being discovered by Saline, Michigan police officers
stumbling drunk the afternoon of Tuesday, February 9th.
He reportedly ran over a curb with
his Cadillac, knocked over a store display while walking in and out
of nearby businesses, and was then was found hiding behind a
dumpster as police approached. A vodka bottle was found in the bag
he was carrying.
Officers reported that he could not
pass sobriety tests, and was about three times over the legal limit.
