NHS Radio WOVI to broadcast High School All-Star Baseball Classic

Novi High School's student radio station will air a tape-delayed broadcast of Tuesday's High School East-West All-Star Baseball Classic on Friday, June 19. The program is scheduled to air at 10:00 a.m. on WOVI Radio, 89.5 FM.

Commentators Matt Kearney, Garrett Jewell, and Brett Jewell will bring the action to listeners from the broadcast booth at Comerica Park in Detroit. The 28th annual event was organized by the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Novi High School was well-represented in the game. Senior Varsity Captain Garrett Green was tapped for this year's East team. He went into the game with a solid .404 batting average for the 2009 season. Novi Varsity Coach Rick Green was named to the East All-Stars Coaching Staff. He has been leading the Novi Varsity since 2000, and has compiled an impressive 234-103 record over those nine seasons.

The game audio will also be available for online streaming shortly after Friday's on-air broadcast on WOVI's website, www.wovi.org. The broadcast was produced with the cooperation of the MHSBCA, the Detroit Tigers, and Comerica Park.
