Novi Credit Union Robbed Friday

8/25/07 Source: Novi Police Dept.

Friday afternoon at 12:33 p.m., the Novi Police Department received a hold-up alarm from the Family Service Credit Union, located on Ten Mile Road near Meadowbrook.

The suspect entered the bank, walked up to the teller, and handed the teller a note demanding money from the cash drawers. A weapon was not used or implied. The suspect fled on foot to the parking lot and may have driven off in a black four-door sedan with tinted rear windows.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 25 and 40 years of age, and approximately 5' 7" tall. He had a very thin build and was wearing a white, nylon jacket with orange accents, dark shorts, and flip – flop sandals, and was wearing a dark baseball cap with unknown green lettering on it.

There have been additional bank robberies in Metro Detroit communities. It is unknown if this suspect is involved in those crimes. The Novi Police Department is coordinating investigative efforts with the FBI, as well as other area police departments.

Bank surveillance footage of the suspect is shown above and below.

If anyone has information regarding this incident, please contact Detective Kevin Gilmore or Detective Scott Baetens, Novi Police Department, at (248) 348-7100.
