Novi Boys, Girls Cross Country teams qualify
for State Finals

Novi's Boys and Girls Cross Country teams
both placed third at Regionals Friday to qualify for State
Finals. Novi Catholic Central was first in the boy's race,
followed by Pinckney.
Novi's Mike Blaszczyk took third
overall in the boy's race with an impressive 15:53.
It's the 10th time
in 11 years the Boy's team has qualified for State Finals.
Brighton and Pinckney lead the field in the girl's race, with Novi's
Elle Robinson and Abby Chandler taking 5th and 8th place overall.
Wildcats take 3rd in KLAA
Conference Meet

In a field of 12 teams, the Wildcats
took third overall at the first-ever KLAA conference meet.
Plymouth and Canton were first and second respectively. Novi's
Mike Blaszczyk took second overall, and Novi JV took second in
their race, with Brett Giampa taking first place individually.

At the first ever KLAA Divisional
Meet, the Wildcats took first place in a field of 6 teams with
31 points. Northville was second with 49 points. Novi's
Mike Blaszczyk was first overall with a time of 16:15. Butler,
Egner and Carless were in the top ten. The 'Cats also won the JV
portion of the meet.
Wildcats finish season undefeated with 21-37
victory over South Lyon

The 'Cats finished the dual-meet Boy's Cross Country season
undefeated Tuesday with a sold 21-37 victory over rival South Lyon.
Novi's Blaszczyk, Butler and Egner finished in the top three slots,
with Minghine, Schubring and Giese rounding out the top ten. Next up
is the first-ever KLAA Divisional Meet, which will take place next
Tuesday at Cass Benton, Novi's home course.
Wildcats 4th of 41 at Oakland County Meet

The Wildcats ran to a respectable 4th place finish of 41 teams
entered in the Oakland County Meet Saturday at Kensington Metro
Park. Novi's top 10 runners were Blaszczyk, Butler, Minghine, Egner,
Schubring, Giampa, Carless, Giese, Rothermel, and Conrad.

The Wildcats defeated Stevenson 15-48,
with Novi taking the top six slots. Those 'Cats were: Minghine,
Egner, Blaszczyk, Butler, Schubring, and Giampa. Novi is undefeated
this season.
Novi out-runs Plymouth Salem 22-35

At Cass Benton Park, Novi's home course, the
'Cats took the first three slots to defeat Plymouth Salem 22-35.
Novi took the top three slots - Blaszczyk (16:42), Butler (17:01)
and Egner (17:02), and Salem took the next three. Novi remains
undefeated.

Novi edges out Northville 22-34

The Wildcats edged out their Baseline rival Northville
Mustangs 22-34 in a very close race to the finish. It was Blaszczyk
finishing first, followed by Northville's Dalton for second. Then
Egner, followed by Northville's Griffith and Novi's Minghine. Novi
secured the next two spots to secure the victory.
Wildcats win second-straight Spartan Invitational in a field of
41 teams

Novi's Mike Blaszczyk took second overall, leading 5
Wildcats to a top-30 finish and securing a first place team victory
for Novi. It was the second time in two yeas Novi earned the honors
in East Lansing. 41 teams competed in the event this year.
Wildcats defeat South Lyon East 20-43
9/11/08
In their first-ever dual meet, the Wildcats defeated South Lyon East
20-43. East came across the finish line first, but the 'Cats took
the next 8 positions to secure the victory. Those top 'Cats included
Giampa, Minghine, Schubring, Egner, Burkhardt, Blaszczyk, Rothermel,
and Pravato.
Coach Smith noted following the meet, "South
Lyon East is a very young team. I congratulate the fine effort from
this new school. Our Wildcats continue to work on team running as
evidence by our 2 second pack for our top 6 runners."

the South Lyon Invitational Saturday, with junior Mike
Blaszczyk taking first overall in the varsity race, and
sophomore Joe

coaches, and the great programs that created them. It’s a
favorite recruiting tactic of college coaches, and I’ve nearly
“fallen” for them a number of times. And while you may think
this is just another letter in that line, I’d say this one is
