The winner was selected by just
9% of the People 18% of Novi voters went to the polls yesterday - less then one in five. That means Novi's most contested race, the Republican ticket for Oakland County Commissioner, was decided by just 9% of the registered voters. In other words, 91% of the people didn't vote, or selected someone else. Those who did vote picked a good man - Kim Capello has been working hard for the People of Novi for many years now. Steadily and consistently, he has been the voice of reason on our City Council. We're lucky to have him in Novi, and come November we hope all of Oakland County will see the benefits of this wise decision. Congratulations Kim! Congratulations also to Hugh Crawford, who won the primary to be our candidate for State Representative. He's another of Novi's best. This November, the City expects an 80% voter turn-out to elect a new President, yet only 18% voted this week? Folks, in some areas including Novi, the primary is usually where the eventual winner is selected. We the People need to get to the polls for every election, not just once every four years to pick a President. Absentee voting and quick lines at the polls make it easy to vote in Novi. Exercise your right to vote. If you voted, thank you. If not, please make it a point to do so next time. Regardless, we'll still welcome your opinions. p.s. - Stop by the Novi Ice Arena this Saturday The
