Novi is a great place to live, and here are some more reasons
July 18, 2008

This week, Money Magazine named Novi one of the top places to live in America. Money cited great schools, lots of green space, and cultural diversity as key factors.

They're correct on those three factors, but we have a few additional, important factors to consider.

Novi also has excellent shopping, more restaurants and clubs than you can count, excellent local government, the best police and fire departments in the region, great medical care, and the amazing Rock Financial Showplace.

In addition, Novi is one of the few areas in Michigan that's actually growing and continually attracting new business. New homes continue to be built and sold in Novi, even during a housing decline in the rest of the region.

Soon, Novi will also be home to a new library, yet another new park or two, and the most modern and well-equipped hospital in the region. Things are looking even better.

And the best part? All of this in a really good location.

We the People are very pleased with the way Novi has grown and thrived in the past decade. This is largely the result of a team effort - dedicated folks not stymied by obstructionists or politics. And folks, the results show.

Next week, let's talk about what Novi needs to do to stay at the top of the list. In the mean time, we'd welcome your input on that subject.

Novi District Court published a list of Novi's Most Wanted this week. They're all wanted for failing to appear in court on various charges, but it's hardly John Walsh material. And that's a good thing...
