Veterans of America
Everyone is invited to an open house at the Michigan Paralyzed
Veterans of America, located at 40550 Grand River, between Haggerty
and Meadowbrook. This event will kick off at 10:00 a.m. and run till
3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13. The event marks Michigan Paralyzed
Veterans Awareness Week and 45 years of service by MPVA. The doors
are open to all residents in the community.

The MPVA does much more than just benefits for
organizations. The MPVA programs include: Veteran’s benefits,
wheelchair sports and recreation, referral services and much more.
The MPVA has been in the State of Michigan since 1961, and serves
all the surrounding communities.
MPVA is a nonprofit organization and receives no
federal funding. MPVA relies on grants, sponsorships, and private
and corporate donations to support its programs.
This amazing organization has its own motto and mission they
follow which is to “enhance the lives of veterans with spinal cord
injury or disease as well as all citizens with disabilities, by
advocating for civil rights, assuring quality health care,
supporting continued research and education, and encouraging
independence and healthy living through various health, sports and
recreational programs.”
Stop by the MPVA on Thursday, April 13th and learn about what an
impact these people have had on our country. Or just stop in one day
and check the place out for a few minutes.
