Around Novi
Know what the "locals" know

Real life in Novi by a life-long

   Outrageous Gas Prices Remain:
Here's where to find the best deals in Novi

Skyrocketing past $3.00 per gallon, gas prices hit an all-time high last year and are still higher than anyone wants. With prices still over $2.50 per gallon (regular) at some local gas stations, teens along with some adults have to empty their pockets, paying over $40 to fill up the tank on their SUV. Having a car makes a slight difference, but the gas prices are still a problem we are all faced with.

Supply and demand controls it all, and yes, that’s horrible for all of us, but that is what we have to live with now and probably for the rest of our lives. Yes, you’ll see gas prices drop 20 cents over a two week period, but two days later, prices skyrocket twenty cents up overnight.

Other than supply and demand, a few of the other factors that influence gas prices include: crude oil, natural gas, government regulations, and as we all saw in 2005, natural disasters.

Currently the Speedway on Haggerty Road just north of
8 Mile Road has the lowest price in the Novi area at $2.21 per gallon (regular). Just don't try to make a left
turn coming out of this station.

Second to the Haggerty Road Speedway are the two Speedways at Novi Road and 10 Mile, across the street from one another.

The Sunoco gas station on Grand River just west of Novi Road is new to the area, and usually has prices lower than the others in town. This station lacks business because not everyone knows about it yet.

Hopefully, prices will continue to drop like they have been lately and everyone can save some money; instead of having to use up all of the money in our pockets.

On a regular basis, we bring you information
on parts of Novi you might not know about --
restaurants, shops, interesting places, history,
and things you just won't find anywhere else!
